X Therapy — Jeremy M. Jobson

We help outfit you for life... because life IS off-road.
Explore the approach ↓Awarenessleads to agency.
Understanding your story creates room to change what comes next.
We begin with curiosity: where a pattern started, what keeps it going, and how the stories of your life connect. When you can see more clearly what is happening beneath the surface, you have more room to choose how you respond, or react.
You are more than the problems that brought you here. Counseling makes space for your physical, mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual life—and for what sustains you: rest, movement, connection, purpose, nature, and room to enjoy being alive.
“Wise is the man who can entertain many an idea without having to adopt one of them.”
Life IS off-road
Life rarely follows a straight path. Despite our best efforts, change is the only constant in life; will pain be transformed into power? That is why our work is collaborative, shaped around the experiences you bring, the relationships that matter to you, and the changes you want to make.
Trauma & emotional patterns
Explore difficult experiences, anger, and the responses that can keep repeating long after their beginnings.
Couples & relationships
Make space for attachment, communication, recurring conflict, and a deeper understanding of each other.
Recovery & life transitions
Navigate addictions, change, identity, meaning, and the work of finding your way through a new season.

People. Story.Possibility.

I’m Jeremy M. Jobson, a licensed mental health counselor, entrepreneur, and father of three.
Throughout my life, I’ve sought to be an observant pilgrim—learning from the places I’ve been, the people I’ve encountered, and the experiences I’ve had the honor of living. Some lessons came through success, but most of the valuable lessons came through pain, mistakes, loss, and eventually a willingness to reconsider what I thought I knew.

The experience I bring
My professional journey included nearly ten years in pharmaceutical and medical supply sales and management, including work with Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, and others. Those roles taught me to listen, understand what motivates people, build relationships, and help others develop their capabilities. Helping people grow pushed me to grow, too.
I also spent over a decade in nonprofit work as a church planter, ministry leader, outreach organizer; walking alongside people searching for belonging, meaning and a way through their pain/suffering. That experience deepened my interest in the connections among psychology, spirituality, relationships, and everyday life.
My entrepreneurial roots in business, combined with my path in mental health counseling, helped me find the path I’m on now. First I opened a community counseling clinic within a church. I went on to help double the size of another nonprofit counseling clinic; and lastly opened my own practice five years ago. Through that practice, we’ve helped launch six independent practices, with eight therapists currently sharing our space.
Across businesses, territories, churches, clinics, and practices, I’ve learned about the responsibility of turning a vision into something that serves people. Through every setting, I’ve kept observing: Why do we repeat patterns that hurt us? What helps us feel secure enough to change? What allows us to build relationships in which we can be honest, connected, and ourselves?
The life behind the work
Those questions have followed me home.
I have been fortunate to have lived many lives and played many roles along the way, personally and professionally—too many to name, all important. My story includes more than 20 years of marriage and, unfortunately, the grueling reality of divorce. Through it all, I am forever the father of three amazing, ever-evolving humans. Fatherhood remains the most important role of my life. Being a father and a helper to others gives direction to everything I’m building.
I’ve also had to face my own blind spots and personality tendencies. Life has a way of whittling away at you until you become willing to receive what it’s teaching. Learning to listen—to others, to myself, and to the reality in front of me—has changed how I live and how I work.
I was born on Earth Day and Easter Sunday, April 22, 1973. Given the place nature, spirituality, and renewal have come to occupy in my life, that feels like a fitting beginning. Nature has continued being a meaningful part of that ongoing process. Time outside gives me room to notice, reflect, move, and experience awe. It reminds me that even when my world feels small or painful, there is more to encounter.
What that means for X Therapy
X Therapy brings those lessons together with my clinical training and a lifelong interest in what helps people live well. Its foundation is curiosity, lived experience, and respect for the person whose story is different from mine.
My approach makes room for psychology, science, spirituality, physical health, relationships, and our connection to nature. We explore the parts that matter to you, within your own beliefs and experience. Some sessions take place in an office or virtually, including from outdoor locations while I travel in my Jeep. Some clients meet me off-road, on the trails or camping. Time outside offers another setting to notice, reflect, and explore what matters to you.
The tire tracks in our logo carry a simple reminder: Life IS off-road.
We make plans, choose directions, and do our best to prepare. Then the terrain changes. Relationships shift. Loss arrives. Old ways of coping stop working. Sometimes we discover that the route we’ve been following no longer leads toward the life we want.
When you head off-road, it helps to have a good outfitter—someone who understands the terrain and helps you prepare for what you may encounter.
That’s how I think about X Therapy. We help outfit you for life. Or better said, we help you, outfit you, for your life!
The most important thing you bring is yourself. Together, we build your confidence in your ability to meet what comes next and identify the tools and support you need. That may mean understanding your emotions, processing painful experiences, communicating clearly, setting boundaries, changing patterns, or learning when to ask for help. We also look at what sustains you: rest, movement, relationships, purpose, and room to enjoy being alive.
Awareness leads to agency.
Meaningful change begins with understanding what’s happening beneath the surface: where our patterns come from, what keeps them in place, and how our experiences and stories connect. As that awareness grows, we become better equipped to make intentional choices and create the changes we seek.
Preparation cannot spare us every hardship. It can help us recognize our choices and find support when the trail gets difficult.
At X Therapy, our focus is helping you understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and discover what a meaningful life looks like for you. Here you’ll find mental health resources, original content, and carefully curated knowledge from others. I don’t have to be the smartest person in the room. I just want to know who the smartest people are and how to find them—and help you find them, too.
That work may mean finding greater peace, making a difficult change, or feeling more present in the life you already have. It begins with recognizing the possibilities within you, the support available through others, and the world you still have an opportunity to experience.
For me, that recognition starts each morning:
“I am here.”
One day, I won’t be. But today I woke up. What will I do with this experience of existence, of being awake and alive?
There is life to be lived, love to be enjoyed, joy to be experienced; and grief to mourn, loss to be felt and plenty we cannot predict. We can learn to participate more fully in all of it—with tools, training, curiosity, and a growing belief in our ability to find our way.
X Therapy. We help outfit you for life.
Because Life IS off-road.

Get curious about
what you don’t yet see.
The stories we tell ourselves about other people—and ourselves—can become familiar enough to feel final. Counseling offers room to pause, listen, and consider another perspective.
Bring the conversationto your community.
Practical conversations about emotional awareness, human interactions, and meaningful change.
Jeremy brings experience across business, community engagement, leadership, and mental health to work with ministries, churches, organizations, businesses, schools, teams, and counselors. The goal is to help people work well together, function at their best, and strengthen the impact they can make.
Topics can include why smart people still get emotionally hijacked, understanding recurring patterns, and turning awareness into intentional choices. Consulting builds on those conversations through healthy team dynamics and clearer connections among vision, mission, values, and strategies.
Tools such as DISC, MBTI, and the Enneagram can offer starting points for exploring different perspectives, communication styles, and ways of working together.
Ask about speaking or consulting ↗Travel has been part of my life as an observant pilgrim. Whether I’m off-road on a nearby trail or exploring somewhere new, stepping outside familiar surroundings reminds me how much there is to learn—from places, from people, and from stories different from my own. That’s why I’ve always loved Rick Steves and his use of this Mark Twain quote.
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”Mark Twain · The Innocents Abroad, 1869
